The Senseca HD2003 is a 3-axis static ultrasonic anemometer with multiparameter measurement capability, designed for simultaneous monitoring of key airflow and atmospheric parameters.
The instrument measures wind speed and direction, U-V-W Cartesian velocity components, wind gust, speed of sound, sonic temperature, air temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure.
The HD2003 features 5 analog voltage or current outputs, configurable for different measurement ranges. For digital communication, the instrument provides RS232 and multidrop RS485 serial interfaces.
The digital data output rate is configurable, while averaging periods for all output quantities can be set from 1–60 s and 1–60 min.
The instrument uses dedicated algorithms for processing and validating raw measurement signals, providing anemometric measurement accuracy of up to ±1%.
A high-frequency digital data acquisition mode with 50 Hz output is also available, making the instrument suitable for applications requiring fast monitoring of airflow variations.
The HD2003 includes self-diagnostics, with error checking and diagnostic reporting. It is designed to provide reliable and accurate operation across the full measuring range without requiring additional user calibration.
The instrument is supplied with PC software for configuration and data display, which can be adapted to the user’s requirements. Instrument setup and software upgrades can be managed through the RS232 or RS485 interface.
An integrated magnetic compass sensor enables automatic alignment to magnetic north, facilitating correct wind direction measurement.
Thanks to the absence of moving parts, mechanical maintenance requirements and servicing needs are significantly reduced. Its robust construction is suitable for continuous operation under harsh environmental conditions, while low power consumption supports integration into automatic and remote monitoring systems.
A heated version, HD2003R, is also available. It incorporates a built-in heating system for the ultrasonic transducers to prevent snow accumulation and ice formation, supporting reliable measurement even in sleet and snow conditions.
The Senseca HD2003 is suitable for meteorological monitoring, scientific and research measurements, automatic weather stations, airflow monitoring, and applications requiring simultaneous measurement of multiple atmospheric parameters.
