The Senseca ECO 120-SoilTemp is a professional portable thermometer designed for measuring and monitoring the internal temperature of soil, compost, straw, wood chips, and other bulk materials. The thermometer is equipped with a robust GTF40-T stainless steel insertion probe with a diameter of Ø10 mm, designed for temperature measurements in materials with increased mechanical resistance. The probe is available in three lengths: 620 mm, 1000 mm, and 1500 mm, allowing temperature measurements at different depths.

The probe features a laser-welded tip, providing a durable construction for insertion into soil, compost, and other bulk materials. An integrated ergonomic T-handle facilitates manual insertion and removal of the probe during measurement operations.

The probe incorporates a Pt1000 resistance temperature sensor, Class B, with a 2-wire connection, providing temperature measurements within the probe's permissible range of -50.0…+250.0 °C. This configuration supports temperature monitoring of soil, compost, and stored organic materials.

The probe is connected to the handheld instrument through a fixed 1 m cable with a BNC connector, providing convenient handling during temperature measurements at different depths.

The Senseca ECO 120-SoilTemp features a 3-line backlit display with a battery status indicator and shatterproof screen protection. A display inversion function, activated at the push of a button, facilitates reading measurements from different operating positions.

The integrated MIN/MAX functions allow users to monitor minimum and maximum recorded temperatures, while the HOLD function freezes the current reading. The instrument also includes an alarm function that allows users to set a critical temperature threshold, for example 50 °C, to monitor temperature conditions in compost and other organic materials.

The instrument housing is manufactured from impact-resistant ABS plastic and provides IP67 protection, making it suitable for regular outdoor use, agricultural operations, and environments with increased humidity and dust exposure.

The thermometer is powered by 2 × AA alkaline batteries, providing approximately 5,000 hours of typical operation. The extended battery life reduces the need for frequent battery replacement during routine temperature inspections.
