The Senseca LPPHOT01 is a photometric probe for illuminance measurement, designed for continuous indoor monitoring of lighting conditions. The probe measures illuminance in lux and features a spectral response matched to the standard photopic curve V(λ), providing measurements aligned with the sensitivity of human vision.

The LPPHOT01 is specified as a Class B luxmeter probe and uses a photodiode, optical filter, and diffuser. Incident light generates a photocurrent, which is converted into a potential difference across a shunt resistor. The resulting signal can be read directly with a suitable voltmeter or digital multimeter, with no external power supply required for the probe.

The measuring range is 0…200 klux, with a calibration accuracy of better than 4%. To improve angular response, the probe uses a cosine-corrected diffuser, with f₂ below 3%.

Each probe is individually calibrated, and its specific sensitivity factor is marked on the housing and used to calculate the measured value.

To achieve approximately 1% reading precision, the probe output should be connected to a digital multimeter with an input resistance greater than 100 kΩ.

The probe operates over a temperature range of 0…50 °C and is housed in a compact Ø30 mm × 38 mm enclosure with a 5 m cable for connection to the reading instrument.

Technical Specifications – Senseca LPPHOT01

Parameter Value
Typical Sensitivity 0.5…1.5 mV/klux
Measuring Range 0…200,000 lux
Spectral Response V(λ)
Calibration Accuracy <4%
f₁′ (V(λ) Match Error) <6%
f₂ (Cosine Response / Directional Error) <3%
f₃ (Linearity) <1%
f₅ (Fatigue) <0.5%
Operating Temperature 0…50 °C
Output Impedance 0.5…1 kΩ
Dimensions Ø30 mm × 38 mm height

The difference between the spectral response of the LPPHOT01 and the standard photopic curve V(λ) is evaluated by means of the f₁′ error.

Probe calibration is performed by comparison with a luxmeter calibrated by a Primary Metrological Institute, while the probe is illuminated with a standard illuminant A — a reference incandescent lamp with a colour temperature of 2856 K.
