The Senseca LPPHOT03 Series consists of photometric probes for illuminance measurement in lux, designed primarily for outdoor installation and long-term monitoring. The probes are equipped with a CIE photopic filter, a diffuser for cosine correction, and a K5 glass dome.

The measured quantity is illuminance, defined as the ratio between luminous flux in lumens and the area of the illuminated surface in m². The spectral response of the probe is corrected to closely match the standard photopic curve V(λ), which represents the spectral sensitivity of the human eye. The deviation from this curve is characterized by the f’1 parameter.

Calibration is performed by comparison with a reference lux meter calibrated by a Primary Metrological Laboratory. The calibration procedure complies with CIE Publication No. 69 – “Methods of characterizing illuminance meters and luminance meters: Performance characteristics and specifications, 1987.”

Depending on the configuration, the series is available with different outputs:

  • LPPHOT03 – passive mV/klux output;
  • LPPHOT03BL – passive mV/klux output with base and levelling device;
  • LPPHOT03BLAC – 4–20 mA output with base and levelling device;
  • LPPHOT03BLAV – 0–10 V DC output with base and levelling device;
  • LPPHOT03BLS – RS485 MODBUS-RTU output with base and levelling device.

The operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C.

The analog models use a 4-pole M12 male connector, while the RS485 MODBUS-RTU version uses an 8-pole M12 male connector.

On request, CPM12AA4… cables are available for the analog-output models, while the CPM12-8D cable is available for the LPPHOT03BLS version, both with suitable M12 female connectors.

The Senseca LPPHOT03 Series is suitable for weather stations, climatological monitoring, daylight measurement, outdoor illuminance control systems, and professional photometric applications.
