nemi WAMS Node is a wireless sensor node for data acquisition within i4M’s Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS). It is specifically designed for applications that require large-area sensor coverage, very long battery life, and low data rates, such as infrastructure and structural health monitoring.

In addition to integrated humidity and temperature sensors, nemi WAMS Node provides flexible connection options for external sensors to measure and monitor strains, forces, temperatures, displacements, and crack widths. Typical sensors include strain gauge full bridges, Pt100 / Pt1000 resistance thermometers, displacement sensors, and potentiometric sensors.

The system uses the proprietary nemi Link 868 long-range radio technology, operating in the 868 MHz frequency band, which enables transmission ranges of up to 1000 m with extremely low power consumption. This allows battery lifetimes of more than 5 years, and up to 7 years under typical measurement intervals.

nemi WAMS Node supports periodic data acquisition every 1 to 20 minutes, as well as alarm-based transmissions every 1 to 5 minutes. Measurement data can be transmitted as raw values or as pre-evaluated smart data generated directly on the node via edge computing, minimizing data traffic and energy consumption.

Thanks to its robust, weatherproof IP67 housing and completely wireless operation, nemi WAMS Node can be installed easily on large assets and structures without cabling. Typical use cases include crack and climate monitoring on bridges, structural monitoring of buildings, and long-term temperature monitoring of rolling bearings in large production facilities.
